As of April 1, 2017, Members of Household (MOH) coverage is NOT available to residents in the state of Colorado.

Our members serve worldwide and build families in many different ways. “Caring for Your Health Worldwide” means offering policies designed to cover members of your household including family, domestic partners, au pairs and nannies, or friends who are not eligible for Federal benefits.

Our Members of Household policies offer worldwide medical coverage. Reside and Reside Prime policies require a health application or questionnaire to determine insurability. These plans are ideal for those family members and friends not eligible for the Federal Employees Health Benefits program, who are either U.S. citizens spending extensive time with you overseas or foreign nationals needing healthcare coverage while residing with you in the U.S or while traveling outside their home country.

Reside is a scheduled benefit plan with the flexibility and security you need no matter where you are in the world. This truly worldwide health insurance policy is specially designed for U.S. citizens in need of emergency coverage overseas and foreign nationals looking for emergency coverage that follows them at home and abroad.

Highlights of the plan:

  • Choose from two coverage areas when you enroll. Coverage area A includes the U.S. and Canada as well as access to a worldwide network. Coverage area B is designed for those whose travel will exclude the U.S. and Canada.
  • Reside is an application-based insurance policy and it is possible you can be denied coverage. Do not assume you cannot be covered! Complete the application in the PDF brochure below, submit it to Seven Corners, and the Reside team will contact you if they need additional information.
  • Pre-notification is required to ensure you receive the best care possible.
  • Reside includes:
    • Maternity coverage, after a waiting period of 364 days.
    • Newborn children are automatically covered for the first 31 days of life.
    • Preventative benefits and well child care, after a 180-day waiting period.
    • Emergency medical evaluation.
    • Return of remains.
    • AD&D coverage for accidental death and some severe injuries.
  • Premiums depend on several factors, including:
    • Age of the insured.
    • Chosen deductible level.

  • In this plan, the deductible you choose applies once per each occurrence of sickness or injury. This is different from typical U.S. health insurance plans where the deductible is applied once annually. You may have to pay your deductible several times in a year if you purchase this plan, depending upon how many times you see a healthcare provider and the reasons for your visits.

FAQs (9)

What type of coverage does Seven Corners' Reside, Reside Prime, and Liaison Majestic Insurance offer?

Reside provides coverage for major medical needs and emergencies, with deductibles incurred for each medical instance, rather than once annually. Reside Prime provides coverage that most Americans would consider “basic” (limited preventative care, urgent and emergent care; hospitalizations; pregnancy care), with the deductible paid once annually. Both Reside and Reside Prime provide emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains, coverage especially needed overseas. Please review the plan brochures for complete information.

Liaison Majestic is a comprehensive medical travel plan designed to provide health insurance to people traveling outside of their home country. This plan excludes maternity benefits. It includes medical and emergency evacuation and repatriation of remains. For complete information please review the plan brochure.

Is overseas medical insurance necessary if I am traveling out of the U.S. for a short period only?

AFSPA recommends anyone traveling out of their home country consider a travel medical insurance option. Whether you choose to purchase one or not will depend on your own health, where you are traveling, what coverage your regular health insurance provides while traveling to other countries, and your own comfort. While the policies discussed on this page will provide medical coverage outside of one’s home country, only foreign nationals and U.S. citizens who are both ineligible for Federal Employee Health Benefits and spending extensive time overseas are eligible. Others seeking travel insurance should see Travel to learn about a specially discounted plan for members.

Who is eligible to apply for coverage?

U.S. Citizens and Foreign Nationals who are Members of Household, which includes domestic partners, parents, and dependent children over age 26 who do not qualify for coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

Applicants must reside outside of the U.S. at the time of application or must depart the U.S. within 30 days of the Certificate's Effective Date. For Reside and Reside Prime, applicants must be at least 14 days old and not older than 74 years. For Liaison Majestic, applicants must be over 14 days old. Applicants 80 years and older are limited to a maximum coverage amount of $20,000.

Is a health questionnaire required to be completed before coverage is issued?

Both Reside and Reside Prime include a required health questionnaire as part of their application. The Seven Corners staff will contact you directly if more information is needed.

How do I apply for coverage?

All application and enrollment forms for these plans should be returned to Seven Corners at the postal address or fax number on the forms. These forms can be found in the PDF brochures on this page.

How long is the application review process?

Seven Corners does its best to work quickly: applications are generally reviewed and responses issued within two business days via email. If you need a quicker response, or if you have not heard back within three business days, please call Seven Corners directly at 800-335-0611.

Am I required to receive treatment solely from medical providers and/or facilities that have an agreement with Seven Corners?

No, treatment can be obtained from any provider and/or facility. However, pre-notification is required prior to all hospital admissions worldwide and before any medical expenses are incurred within the U.S. that exceed $1,000 U.S. dollars.

How long may my coverage be effective?

For Reside and Reside Prime, a policy period is 364 days, and the policies are renewable for as long as the covered person is eligible.

For Liaison Majestic, the covered person chooses the policy length at the time of application. This coverage may be purchased for as little as five days or as long as 364 days, and coverage is renewable for up three years.

How do I file a claim?

Simply complete the claim form that you will receive with your ID card(s) and submit it along with all original, itemized bills and receipts. Claims do not need to be translated or currencies converted.
