Spring is a time for new beginnings, and here at AFSPA we’re working on bringing you some new, exciting ways to interact with us!
New Webinar Series
Over the past couple of years, we’ve partnered with the Prudential Insurance Company of America to present an annual series of financial wellness webinars. These have proven so successful we’ve decided to add more webinar offerings.
Beginning this month, we’ll be launching a New Beginnings webinar series. This series is designed for mid-career level members who are managing an employment change. In addition, we’ll be presenting a second webinar series, Transitioning Successfully Into Retirement.
Please visit our events page to learn more and register for the series.
2025 Annual Meeting Recap
Thank you to all who joined us, either in person or online, for our Annual Member Meeting on March 7. We were joined by our keynote speaker Dr. Urvashi Patel Vice President of Data and Analytics at Evernorth Research Institute.
Dr. Patel provided an engaging presentation about cardiodiabesity – a hybrid term that describes the relationship between obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease – and its treatment options, such as popular GLP-1 medications like Wegovy and Ozempic.
Virtual Coaching Programs
During our 2025 Annual Member Meeting, several of our partners were available in person and online to provide information and answer questions about their virtual care coaching programs. They received a lot of insightful engagement, so we’ve decided to make them available to you during the month of April.
Join us for AFSPA Talks (available on any major podcast streaming service) as we speak with experts from Lifestyle Condition Coaching to discuss care options such as GLP-1s and virtual coaching for weight, hypertension, and/or diabetes management. We’ll also discuss how you can earn up to $400 annually in wellness rewards by doing simple tasks like having a Health Risk Assessment or biometric screening.
New Eligibility and Enrollment Services Department
To help serve you better, we have renamed the department formerly known as Member Quality Services to Eligibility and Enrollment Services. This should improve the accuracy of members being connected with the correct AFSPA team member to assist with your specific inquiry. If you have questions about Plan eligibility, enrollments, terminations, Plan changes, or enrolling in or disenrolling from the FSBP-Express Scripts Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, please give us a call at 202-833-4910 and ask to speak to one of our EES team members.
Walk-in Appointments
In another effort to serve you better, we are working on developing a tool to allow those who visit our offices to schedule time with us. This will ensure you meet with the best AFSPA team member to address your specific needs. Please stay tuned to learn more about this in the near future.
CAHPS® Survey
About three weeks ago, you might have received a survey via mail about stateside services the Foreign Service Benefit Plan provided in 2024. This survey gives you the chance to tell us what you think about those services. It will take less than 20 minutes to complete. The data collected will help us serve you better by helping us improve your overall experience when accessing care.
Finally, the spring issue of our AFSPA In Action newsletter will be published in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye on your mailbox or inbox for more information about everything we’re doing to help you live better and feel better.
